What would it mean to walk with God? Our stance towards God, informed by our beliefs, impacts our life experience. The creator of all things leads us as a skilled guide, directing our attention to a plant, a verse, the clouds, a piece of art, a conversation, inviting us to slow down and pay attention to the deeper ground of our be-ing.

God desires to nourish you, satisfying your hunger for deep connection with all that you are and called to be. Cultivating a relationship with the Divine, in all the ways God seeks to be known, will change you to see more.

What is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual direction is an ancient Christian practice. In the third and fourth centuries, the Desert Fathers and Mothers were sought for spiritual wisdom and guidance. Monastic life naturally incorporated this mentor relationship and spiritual direction has been a vital practice within monastic Christianity for many centuries. Today, spiritual direction is for anyone seeking spiritual growth.

I am trained in Ignatian spiritual direction which focuses on the feelings that percolate in us towards others, ourselves, and God. Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556) understood that our inner responses (positive or negative) point to where God is trying to get our attention. I have found the Ignatian principles simple and trustworthy guidelines for anyone looking for God's prodding towards spiritual growth.

What Happens?

Every session is a meeting of three: me (as director), you (seeking direction), and the Holy Spirit. I will lead with questions that encourage a closer review of how things have felt in your life. Careful listening and the work of the Spirit often illuminate details unnoticed, especially the impact of life events on how you feel about your self and God. Reflecting on your story and felt experiences will grow your inner awareness and capacity to invite God to walk with you and show you more.

I will not counsel, teach, or give advice but I will offer suggestions of how you might respond to the unique ways of God in your life that were illuminated during the session.

Everything shared in a session is strictly confidential. I adhere to the Guidelines for Ethical Conduct, as outlined by SDI, Spiritual Directors International.

How It Works

Spiritual direction is offered as individual or group sessions. Meetings are online or in-person in Medford, Massachusetts.

** Group Spiritual Direction is a short-term group experience for those who are new to spiritual direction and/or want to share this inner journey with others. Groups comprise of three or four participants. Reach out if you would like to join an upcoming group, or if you would like to plan a three month session with specific participants.

A Note about Fees

I am committed to making spiritual direction accessible to anyone who strongly desires it. Please ask about my sliding scale if you want spiritual direction but cannot afford the full fee because of an economic limitation. I am happy to discuss a sustainable fee for your circumstances.

If any fee is a barrier for you, you can find spiritual directors supported by orders or patrons and do not charge any fees. Contact any religious order or retreat center to find these directors.

Fees are payable on the day of the session either by cash, check or Venmo.
